A native of Santa Cruz, California, Nick Nollenberger currently serves as the play-by-play broadcaster for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League (AHL), top affiliate of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks. Since joining the Barracuda prior to the 2016–17 season, he has called over 600 professional games.

In addition to his work with the Barracuda, Nollenberger has done play-by-play for the Pac-12 Network and currently serves as an analyst for the Sharks’ pre- and postgame coverage on NBC Sports California. In November 2022, he made his NHL regular-season radio debut, filling in for longtime Sharks radio voice Dan Rusanowsky while Rusanowsky was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Nollenberger has also called NHL preseason games and has served as the voice of the Sharks during the NHL Rookie Tournament for the past eight years.
Beyond his responsibilities with the Sharks and Barracuda, he provides freelance play-by-play for various sports at San Jose State University.

Nollenberger began his career with the Kannapolis Intimidators, the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, where he served as the team’s No. 2 broadcaster and PR assistant, calling all weekend home games. He then spent a season in the North American Hockey League (NAHL) with the Odessa Jackalopes before joining the Barracuda.

His background includes play-by-play broadcasting, podcasting, public speaking (master of ceremonies), public and community relations, sales, marketing, video and audio editing, as well as graphic design.

A graduate of the University of Arizona, Nollenberger called baseball, football, basketball, and hockey games as part of the university’s student radio department.
